Quality loam—what is it?

Loam is soil composed of sand, silt, and clay in relatively even concentration (about 40-40-20% concentration respectively), considered ideal for gardening and agricultural uses. Loam soils generally contain more nutrients and humus than sandy soils, have better infiltration and drainage than silty soils, and are easier to till than clayey soils.[1] High quality loam has the correct ratio of materials and has been thoroughly screened to remove all debris.

Why does it matter?

Projects such as lawns and gardens—where the growth, health, and vibrance of your plants matter most—can benefit greatly from high quality loam. The excellent nutrient properties let your work really shine. And because we provide only the best, most carefully screened materials, working with our loam is a breeze.
